3 Tips for Tooth Pain

A+ A- Woman with a toothache

Tooth pain is one of the most excruciating pains you may experience in your life. It is neither pleasant nor something you would wish on your worst enemy. So how do you manage it? If you aren’t sure how, don’t worry; in this blog, we explain our 3 tips for tooth pain management and how you can control even the worst-case scenarios.

Tips for Tooth Pain

Even though there are many tips for tooth pain management to help you seek relief from your pain, we believe the following three are the best of them all:

  1. Warm Salt Water Rinses

Warm salt water contains a healing ability and can help reduce oral inflammation. Therefore, we recommend that you try gargling salt water if you are experiencing a toothache. You may feel some instant relief and, hopefully, be able to tolerate the pain until you can seek professional help.

  1. Ice Cold Compression

Applying a cold compress to the side of your face will help reduce swelling, as well as some of the pain. This is why it is our 2nd tip for tooth pain management. Try this for 10-20 mins at a time to relieve pain until you can be treated by a dentist.

  1. Painkillers

Painkillers, or more specifically, anti-inflammatories, like ibuprofen, help to reduce swelling and alleviate pain. However, you should only try this when advised by a professional.

The Bottom Line

Tooth pain is awful, so we have provided our top 3 tips for tooth pain management. Still, they are not the final fix for your problem. However, they are great in the interim to help relieve your pain until you are able to visit a dentist who can diagnose and treat the issue.
