Oral Hygiene is the practice of cleaning your mouth and teeth in order to prevent dental problems like cavities, periodontal (gum) disease, gingivitis, and bad breath. Oral Hygiene is absolutely essential to your overall health and well being!
To make sure your mouth and teeth are being kept in the best shape possible, you should come to our office for regular teeth cleaning at least twice a year. You should also be flossing and brushing your teeth at least twice a day, including thoroughly cleaning the tongue and the inside of your cheeks.
Be aware of the kinds of foods that can be detrimental to your overall oral health. These kinds of foods involve anything too sugary or acidic, which can eat away at your teeth enamel and caffeine and coffee, which can cause the teeth to stain. Be sure to stay away from smoking and chewing tobacco, which are both linked with multiple dental diseases, including cancer.
