Receiving a teeth cleaning and exam from our friendly and knowledgeable dental hygienists is a very important part of maintaining healthy teeth and gums!

Most dental cleanings take between 25-30 minutes and are essential to removing plaque and tartar buildup, which cannot be completely and thoroughly removed without professional assistance. If these damaging substances are not removed, they can eventually lead to gum disease and many other tooth problems. It’s recommended that you receive a teeth cleaning at least every 3 to 6 months.

Here’s what will happen during your dental cleaning:

• Your mouth will be examined for inflamed or bleeding gums, tooth infections, decay, sores or any other concerns.
• Scaling and root planing will be performed - this is the process of removing plaque and tartar from all tooth surfaces with a variety of methods, depending on the amount of plaque and tartar.
• Once the hygienist is finished with the initial cleaning, Dr. Behnaz Raisdana will then evaluate your mouth. This will include a cancer screening and a review of the teeth, gums, and any concerns you may have.
