Your Child’s Back-To-School Dental Checkup!

A+ A-

Every family seems to have their own back-to-school preparation routine. It usually involves new school clothes, a new backpack, and the school supplies they’ll need for the year.

Here at Auburn Family Dental, we recommend that you consider bringing your children in for a back-to-school dental checkup as well! Once school begins, schedules fill up quickly and it becomes more difficult to make and keep a dental cleaning and exam.

Why are back-to-school dental checkups important?

  • Prevention – Being diligent about routine cleanings and exams allows Dr. Behnaz Raisdana to catch any dental problems early on. Early detection means your child will be less likely to miss school because of a dental issue and will also be less costly to treat.
  • School Absences – It’s been found that more than almost 52 million hours of school are lost each year because of dental problems! In addition to this scary statistic, dental cavities are the number one chronic childhood illness. Make sure your child avoids becoming one of these statistics by staying on top of his or her cleanings and exams.
  • Clean Slate – Begin the new school year with a clean slate for your child’s dental health! Starting school with a cleaner, sparkly smile will not only boost your child’s self-esteem on the first day of school, but a cleaner smile is also easier to maintain.
  • Overall Health – Dental problems can adversely affect your child’s overall health. If untreated, tooth decay in children can lead to infections and malnutrition. Your child will also experience unnecessary pain and trouble eating and speaking. This can make it difficult to focus on schoolwork and extracurricular activities.

It’s important to us that your child has a healthy, happy school year filled with friends and learning! Make it easier for your child to succeed by scheduling a dental cleaning and exam with our office today! Call or visit Auburn Family Dental, located in Wichita, KS.
